Bottom Image - 1950s Reissue The "Awkward ass" intertitle actually corrected a problem in Chaplin's film editing for his 1971 re-edit. The 1950s reissue film shows this scene perfectly. But, seeing it side by side with the 1971 film, I found about 24 frames of film missing from the 1971 film. Chaplin's solution? He placed in an intertitle "Awkward ass." |
