Chaplin's Essanay and Mutuals DVDs - Image Entertainment
This guide created by ednapurviance.org is to help you find your favorite Chaplin and Edna Purviance Essanay and Mutual Films. This collections shown above are the best restored Essanay and Mutual Films available in the U.S. This restored collection from the 1990's by David Shepard took nine years to assemble from the best preserved clips found all over the world.

Chaplin did not own the copyright for any of the Mutuals and Essanays, so the films got scattered into many hands. Even in Chaplin's day, these films were copied and kept in private collections. From these diverse sources came the best collection of Essanays and Mutuals since the silent days. With new music created for each film, this collection is a must for any Chaplin Collection. Also the best to see Edna Purviance's early work with Chaplin.

2006 - 'The Chaplin Mutual Comedies 90th Anniversary Edition' with Carl Davis scores.
